York swept Gorham 3-0 on the road on September 22, handing the top team in Class A its first loss of the season.
Gorham came in at 5-0 and leaves at 5-1, with a 5 game winning streak ended. Gorham remains No. 1 in Class A on the Heal Points board, but its PIR, the Power Index Rating, slipped from 69.5 to 65.5.
York is now 4-1 with its second straight win and its fourth sweep of the season. The result lifted York from No. 9 to No. 4 in Class B in the Heal Points. Its DSI, the Depth of Schedule Index that measures the strength of a team's opponents, rose from 38 to 73, and its PIR climbed from 60.3 to 68.4.
Last season these two needed all five sets on October 14, 2025, when Gorham won 3-2 at home. This time the gym could turn the lights off two sets earlier.
Both teams are home on Thursday, September 24. York hosts Cape Elizabeth, and Gorham hosts Noble.
