Washington Academy swept Wells 3-0 at home on October 12, running its girls volleyball winning streak to six straight and its record to 11-1.
It was the eighth sweep of the season for Washington Academy, which sits No. 1 in Class B on the Heal Points board. Its DSI, the Depth of Schedule Index that measures the strength of a team's schedule, fell from 87 to 81 with the match.
Wells, now 3-9, slipped from No. 7 to No. 8 on the Class C Heal Points board. Its DSI rose from 58 to 77, so the visitors left with something to show for the trip. On the schedule, at least, a sweep can still be a good investment.
Washington Academy hosts Mount Desert Island on Thursday, October 15. Wells plays at Kennebunk on Saturday, October 17.
