Vinalhaven/North Haven beat Rangeley Lakes Regional 2-1 at home on October 12, picking up its first girls soccer win of the season.
The win came in the eighth game and snapped a 2 game losing streak, lifting Vinalhaven/North Haven to 1-6-1. Goals have been scarce this fall, 0.6 a game through 8 games, so finding two on the same day was a fine time to do it.
It also flipped last season's result. Rangeley Lakes Regional won that meeting 1-0 at home on September 13 2025.
The Heal Points board noticed. Vinalhaven/North Haven climbed from No. 13 to No. 10 in 8-Person South, and Rangeley Lakes Regional slipped from No. 10 to No. 11. On the field and on the board, the two schools traded places on the same day.
Rangeley Lakes Regional is 2-8-1, scoring 0.9 goals a game and allowing 2.3 through 11 games. It plays at Buckfield on Wednesday, October 14. Vinalhaven/North Haven plays at Richmond on Saturday, October 17.
