We decided to do something about that.
Introducing The 207, our cross-sport composite ranking that scores every school in Maine across all eight sports we track and produces one single number. One rating. One definitive answer to the question nobody could answer before because nobody was paying enough attention to do the math.

How It Works (The Simple Version)
Our gremlins who have been working truly unconscionable hours, built a system that pulls win percentage, strength of schedule, power ratings, and performance data from every sport we cover. Basketball. Hockey. Soccer. Football. Baseball. Softball. Cross country. Track and field. If your school competes in it, it counts.
Each sport feeds into a composite score. Schools that are dominant across multiple sports rise. Schools that are great at one thing but quietly terrible at everything else get found out. It is, frankly, not our fault that the truth hurts.
Why This Matters
Before The 207, you could compare basketball programs or soccer programs but there was no honest way to say which school was the best athletic program in Maine right now. The NEPS rankings cover individual sports. The coaches poll covers feelings. Nobody was doing the cross-sport work.

The 207 does not care about your school colors. It does not care about your gym capacity or how loud your student section gets. It does not care about the story your booster club puts in the local paper. It cares about wins, margins, competition level, and results. That is it. That is the whole thing.
What We Found
Some schools that everyone assumed were powerhouses are exactly that. Some schools that nobody talks about are quietly putting up numbers that would make the favorites uncomfortable if they knew. A few programs are coasting entirely on one sport and hoping nobody notices.
We noticed.
The gremlins ran the numbers three times because they did not believe what they were seeing the first two times. Same result every time. The data does not negotiate.
