The Marathon Sports Elite Invitational woke up on Saturday at St. Joseph's College in Standish and put up seventeen state leading marks in a single afternoon. That is rude.
Schools came from across the state. Bonny Eagle brought a sprinter who walked out with the state lead in the 100. Edward Little brought a pole vaulter who walked out with the state lead in the vault. Scarborough showed up and walked out with state leads in three events. By the time the last relay finished, the 2026 state leaderboard had been rewritten in seventeen events.

Isabella Harmon (Scarborough) did the thing nobody does in one Saturday.
She won the high jump at 5 feet 8 inches. State leading mark in Maine for 2026.
Then she walked over to the pole vault, cleared 11 feet, and won that too. Also state leading. Two events, two state #1 marks, one meet. That is a season for most kids. She did it in a day.
Jack Cyr (Gorham) ran 49.89 in the boys 400 meter dash.
Forty nine point eight nine. Under fifty. He is the only Maine high school boy who has broken fifty seconds in the 400 this outdoor season. Look it up on our track and field results. The next fastest is a tick over fifty flat.
Laurel Driscoll (Scarborough) ran 4:59.23 in the girls 1600 meter run.
Broke five minutes. In Maine girls distance, breaking five in the 1600 is the bar between very good and the kind of athlete who shows up in conversations about New Englands. She is in those conversations now.
Victoria Zandan (Greely) won the girls 100 meter hurdles in 15.30 and went 18 feet 3 inches in the long jump.
State lead in the hurdles, state #2 in the long jump on the same day. Two events. Different muscle groups. Same kid. Greely's points column on the state meet projection sheet just got a paragraph longer.

Nsungui Mankatu (Lewiston), boys triple jump, 46 feet 1.50 inches. Sydney Leveille (Marshwood), girls triple jump, 38 feet 5.80 inches. Noah Madden (Hampden Academy), boys 300 meter hurdles, 40.78. Hadley Perry (Falmouth), girls 300 meter hurdles, 46.17. Devin Berry (South Portland), boys 110 meter hurdles, 14.56. Thomas LeBlanc (Edward Little), boys pole vault, 15 feet 4 inches.
Relay sweep at the top of the page as well. Cheverus/Waynflete girls 4x100 in 50.00. South Portland boys 4x100 in 43.61. Portland boys 4x400 in 3:23.33. All three are state #1 for 2026.
State meet is going to look familiar in June. A lot of the same names will be at the front of the call sheet. The receipts are already on the track and field site.
