Maranacook Boys Stack 17 Personal Records at Festival of Champions

Maranacook brought its Boys team to the Maine XC Festival of Champions on October 3 and came home with 17 runners holding new season personal records, all set on the same course on the same day. Sophomore Gage Mattson led the way, running 17:01.06.

Junior Romelio Haldane followed in 18:19.86, with senior Timothy Booth right behind him in 18:23.18. Ninth grader Thomas Gannett broke into the 18s with a 18:59.47.

The drops kept coming through the middle of the roster. Liam Farmer ran 19:27.51, Milo Winter 19:33.42 and Mason Levesque 19:53.29. Oliver Barden (21:02.66), Jacob Reily (21:34.12), Warren Dyer (21:45.33) and Logan Farnham (21:52.23) all lowered their marks as well.

So did Rylan Mcadam (22:12.60), Henry Davis (22:53.13), Jonathan Rousculp (23:27.09), Neil Woehrle Logan (24:32.71), Matthew Poulin (24:40.60) and Brooks Smith (26:56.24).

Ninth graders run all through that list, from Gannett near the front to Smith closing it out, alongside seniors like Booth and Winter. That kind of team wide drop says the training is landing.

If there is a downside to 17 personal records in one day, it is that somebody has to update all of them.
