Hampden Academy Wins Northern Maine Class A Girls Title With 27 Points
Hampden Academy won the Girls Class A team title at the Northern Maine Class A Regional Championship on October 24, scoring 27 points. Addison Elliott led the way with the fastest winning time of the day.
Elliott crossed in 18:21.39, finishing 77.3 seconds clear of second place. Behind her, Hampden's scoring five averaged 20:06.0 on the course.
Camden Hills was second with 62 points. Brunswick and Mount Ararat each finished with 110 points, listed third and fourth, and Bangor rounded out the top five with 119.
The good news reached well past the front of the race. In all, 47 Girls runners set a season personal record on the course, which should make for a lot of cheerful bus rides home this late in October.
