Hampden Academy takes team honors at PVC/KVAC Crossover
Hampden Academy put five scorers together and won the Boys Class A team standings at the PVC/KVAC Crossover Meet on September 19 with 39 points, edging Mount Blue at 52.
The margin came from how close Hampden ran. The scoring five averaged 18:08.3 on the course, and just 1:23 separated the first Hampden runner from the fifth. That kind of grouping is what put the team ahead of Mount Blue, with Brewer fourth at 104 and Bangor fifth at 137.
The fastest winning time of the day belonged to Samuel Bergmark of Bangor, who crossed in 16:04.70. He finished 59.2 seconds clear of second in his race.
Across the Boys field, 68 runners set a season personal record on the course.
