Athletic directors have stared at their own records trying to figure out if their schedule was hard or easy. And for all that time, nobody built a real analytics platform for it.

We tracked every game of the 2025 Maine high school football season. That is 316 games across 11 MPA divisions. We know who won. We know by how much. We know which teams played a brutal schedule and got humbled every Friday night but kept showing up anyway.
We covered the big schools in Class A that fill their stadiums on Friday nights. We covered the co-ops held together by school spirit, borrowed uniforms, and the collective prayers of four combined communities. We covered 8-Man football, which if you have never seen it is genuinely chaotic and wonderful and deserves way more attention than it gets.
Every single one of those teams has a profile now. A record. A Power Index Rating. A Road Trip breakdown. And trophies if they earned them. All of it live at Analytics207.
The Power Index Rating: Built Specifically for Maine Football
Here is the thing about football in Maine. A Class A team playing a Class A schedule and a small 8-Man co-op playing in a four team division have almost nothing in common statistically. You cannot throw everyone into one ranking and call it done. That is lazy and it is wrong.
So we did not do that.
The Analytics207 Football Power Index Rating is a blend of two things. Fifty percent is your standing within your own class. Win percentage, average margin of victory, strength of schedule, points scored, points allowed, and consistency. We rank every team against the other teams in their exact same division. A dominant 8-Man team is not being penalized for not playing Class A opponents.
The other fifty percent is built from the Crabtree Index, the rating system the MPA uses for playoff seeding. We normalize it to a 0 to 100 scale and blend it with your within-class standing. The result rewards both divisional dominance and overall competitive quality across the state.
Is it perfect? No rating system ever is. But it is honest, it is built for Maine football specifically, and it will not let a 1-8 team sneak into the top 10 because their schedule happened to look pretty on paper.
Road Trips: Because Somebody Has to Tell the Parents How Far They Are Driving
Every game in our system now has travel data attached to it. Miles one way. Miles round trip. Estimated bus hours. Bus fuel cost. Parent gas cost if you are making the drive yourself. We computed over 19,000 one-way miles across the entire 2025 football season.
Some of those trips are short hops across town. Some are the kind of drives where you pack snacks, download three podcasts, and hope there is no construction on Route 2. The Mover Board: Where Reputations Are Made and Destroyed Every Week
The Mover Board tracks your last five games and shows who is rising, who is falling, who is on a streak, and who is in a freefall they have not admitted to yet. Filter by division. Look at the risers. Look at the fallers, which is less fun but sometimes necessary. See the full board sorted by recent average margin.
It is the page your coach is going to claim not to look at and then absolutely look at from their phone in the parking lot after practice.
Trophies: We Made Up Awards and They Are Extremely Official
Every football team in Maine now has a Trophy Room. Data driven awards based on actual numbers. Iron Defense. Offensive Machine. Clutch Performer. Road Warrior. Consistency King. Each one earned by math, not by a committee and not by whoever has the loudest parents at the booster club meeting.
We generated 479 individual trophy entries across 79 teams for the 2025 season. Some teams loaded up. Some got one trophy that is adjacent to participation and we are rooting for them to do better in 2026.
No Predictions. And That Is on Purpose.
Football is different from basketball and hockey and soccer. Those sports have consistent game-by-game data that feeds predictive GameIQs well. Football in Maine has short seasons, small sample sizes, and enough variability that a prediction engine would be making confident claims on shaky ground.
We are not going to do that. The Analytics207 brand is built on honesty about what the data actually says. Football gets ratings, travel, trophies, and the full analytics suite. It does not get predictions until we have enough data to make predictions worth making. That is not a weakness. That is us refusing to make stuff up and call it analysis.
Why We Are Doing All of This
Because nobody else is. That is genuinely the answer.
There is no other platform in Maine covering high school football with real analytics. There are box score sites. There are newspaper recap pages. There is plenty that tells you who won. We tell you what it means.
Analytics207 exists because high school sports in Maine deserve better coverage than they get. The kids playing on Friday nights in Aroostook County and Washington County and Oxford County deserve the same analytical attention pointed at college programs with nine figure budgets. The parents driving three hours to watch an 8-Man game deserve to know that someone is paying attention.
