Cape Elizabeth Girls Post 17 Season Bests at Festival of Champions

Cape Elizabeth brought 17 season personal records home from the 2026 Maine XC Festival of Champions on October 3, all on the same course on the same day. Sophomore Lily Walsh led the way in 19:43.28.

Walsh had company near the front. Sophomores Sophie Brown and Anna Chang followed in 20:15.59 and 20:22.33.

Behind them came a tight group of season bests. Ninth grader Maeve Cameron ran 21:12.15, and fellow freshman Emelia Gallagher ran 21:44.36. Sophomore Meadow De Vries finished in 21:45.47, ninth grader Byrnn Gallagher in 21:47.84, and sophomore Avery Kleeman in 21:57.47.

Junior Ella Fick ran 22:23.04. Freshmen Mazzy Byrne and Oona Kane posted 22:33.52 and 22:54.82.

The seniors joined in, too. Callie Mccarley ran 25:10.39, Vivienne Parsons 25:13.05 and Wenshin Lu 27:26.89. Ninth grader Kate Fick added 25:57.81, and sophomores Sophie Rughani and Dorothy Van Dessell closed the list in 28:56.83 and 29:25.34.

Freshmen through seniors, front of the pack to the back, the day's best times all came at once. Somebody in Cape Elizabeth is going to need a bigger whiteboard.
