You Are Now Part of the Broadcast Team
We have been tracking every split, every throw, and every PR in Maine track and field for a while now. But here is the thing: our small team cannot be at every meet. There are dozens of meets happening across the state on any given Saturday, and we only have so many screens to stare at.
So we built something new. And we need your help to make it work.
Introducing: Live T&F Result Reporting
Starting today, any fan, parent, or coach attending a track and field meet can report individual results directly from their phone. Your reports show up on the homepage ticker in real time, right alongside the live game scores from baseball, softball, and everything else.
Here is how it works:
Step 1: Go to analytics207.com on your phone.
Step 2: Tap the cyan "T&F Result" button on the ticker bar at the top of the page (it is right next to the orange "Report Score" button).
Step 3: Fill in the details:
Athlete Name — who just competed
School — which school they represent
Event — pick from the full list of track events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, hurdles, relays) and field events (long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin)
Mark or Time — what they ran, threw, or jumped
Meet Name — optional, but helpful for context
PR Checkbox — check this if it is a new personal record
Step 4: Hit submit. That is it. Your report is live.
What It Looks Like on the Ticker
When someone reports a result, it scrolls across the homepage ticker in cyan. If it is a PR, it gets flagged:
NEW PR — Ali Carter (Falmouth) 10.71 in the 100m at SMAA Championships
That is the kind of update that makes a parent's day. That is the kind of update that a coach screenshots and texts to the booster club. That is what we are going for.
Why We Built This
Track and field is different from every other sport we cover. There is no "Bangor 74, Portland 62" final score. There are dozens of individual events, hundreds of athletes, and performances happening simultaneously across the infield and the track. The existing score reporter was not built for that.
So we built a new one specifically for T&F. It is designed around individual performances, not team scores. Because in track, the story is not just who won the meet. The story is the sophomore who just broke 5 minutes in the mile for the first time. The story is the freshman who added two feet to her javelin PR. The story is happening in real time, and now you can help us tell it.
A Few Things to Know
You need a free Analytics207 account to submit results (same as the regular score reporter). This keeps things clean and prevents spam.
There is a daily limit of 10 reports per user. That is plenty for a full meet, but it keeps anyone from flooding the system.
We are counting on you to be accurate. Report what you actually saw. If your kid ran a 12.61 in the 100, do not type 11.61 because you wish they had. We will know. The gremlins always know.
