While everyone else was watching basketball and refreshing tournament brackets, we were quietly building the entire baseball and softball infrastructure. Every team loaded. Every game on the schedule. The prediction engine warmed up and ready to have opinions about high school baseball games that have not happened yet.
Is that excessive? Probably. Do we care? We do not.
By the Numbers
124 baseball teams and 129 softball teams across all four classes (A, B, C, D). That is 253 programs we are tracking, rating, and eventually judging. 871 baseball games and 933 softball games on the schedule. Every single one of them will get a prediction, a spread, and a confidence rating the moment the season starts producing results.
The Prediction Engine
Same engine that hit 89% accuracy on soccer this fall. Same one that spent all of basketball season correctly predicting upsets that made everyone uncomfortable. Now it is pointed at diamonds instead of courts and honestly it could not be more excited.
Here is how it works in plain English: GameIQ watches every game result, adjusts team ratings based on who they beat and by how much, accounts for home field advantage, and produces a win probability and projected margin for every upcoming game. No feelings. No bias toward the team your uncle coaches. Just math.

Think we got a game wrong? Prove it. Pick the games where you think the underdog wins. Only contrarian picks count because agreeing with GameIQ does not take courage. Leaderboards track who actually knows baseball and who just thinks they do.

GameIQ is 78% confident Bangor wins? Cool. Pick the other team. If you are right, you stumped it. Points scale with how confident GameIQ was, so calling a massive upset is worth way more than picking a coin flip.
Survivor Challenge
Pick one team to win each week. If they win, you survive. If they lose, that is a strike. Two strikes and you are done. The catch: you cannot pick the same team twice all season. Saving your strongest pick for later is a real strategy. Burning it in week one because you panicked is also a real strategy. A worse one, but real.
Team of the Week
GameIQ nominates top performers each week by class and region. You vote for the winner. Democracy meets data. Sometimes they agree.

What Happens on April 16
Opening day hits and the data starts flowing. First game results update the ratings. Predictions sharpen. Spreads get real. By the end of the first week, GameIQ will already have opinions about which Class D team is better than everyone thinks and which Class A team is coasting on reputation.
